Poppies in Gouache Workshop
Join this expressive and beginner-friendly gouache workshop at Alice Melo Fine Art Studio on Tuesday, November 3rd from 6–9pm. Designed for ages 18+, this evening class will guide you through painting bold, beautiful poppies while exploring the unique qualities of gouache.
Gouache is a rich and versatile medium known for its velvety finish, strong opacity, and beautiful layering effects. In this workshop, you’ll work with a prepared colour palette and focus on building form, depth, and movement through layering and brushwork.
A key focus of the class is learning to embrace visible brush marks, using them intentionally to create texture, energy, and expression in your painting. Rather than trying to hide every stroke, you’ll discover how brushwork can bring your poppies to life in a loose, confident, and painterly style.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to explore gouache in a relaxed, supportive environment where creativity and experimentation are encouraged.
All supplies are included. Just bring yourself and enjoy a creative evening of painting.

The class takes place in a bright, welcoming studio filled with positivity, creativity, and encouragement, a wonderful place to learn, connect, and be inspired.
Studio Access Note
The studio is located in a loft space and is accessed by stairs, which may not be suitable for all participants.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings are considered final, as each reservation allows me to thoughtfully prepare materials and create a welcoming, well-balanced group experience.
If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your spot to a friend or another participant. Please let me know at least 48 hours in advance so I can update my records.
