"I attended Alice Melo's Workshops for both her watercolour and acrylic paints. In both classes, Alice expertly led us through the step-by-step processes of first, an explanation of paint and paper/canvas, including which were the most afforadable while still being good quality, second, how to think through the processes of where it can be best to start applying paint and why, and finally how to mix the specific colours to achieve our desired outcome. She carefully walked us through the painting process by demonstration and then by walking about giving help where asked. Alice Did not tell anyone how to do their work! She valued what had been acoomplished so far and. if asked, offered suggestions. I think it is safe to say that everyone - in both classes- walked away feeling that they had accomplished something good and looking forward to doing more on their own.
